President Muhammadu Buhari
President Muhammadu Buhari promised that insecurity will be eliminated before the end of the year in Ile-Ife, Osun, on Saturday.
At the 2022 Olojo Festival's grand finale, he provided the assurance.
An old event called the Olojo Festival is annually observed in Ile-Ife. Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi once referred to it as a celebration that honors the Black race worldwide.
However, the president stated that all Nigerians must take part in the fight to end insecurity in a statement sent through the Minister of Internal Affairs, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.
He stated that only the security agencies could not wage the struggle against insecurity.
"Security must be a priority for all of us. To address the difficulties of insecurity, we must cooperate with security authorities and the administration," he stated.
Oba Ogunwusi made a significant contribution to the fight against insecurity, and Buhari praised him for it.
Adegboyega Oyetola, the governor of Osun, earlier praised the Ooni for having the determination and ability to preserve the rich history of his ancestors.
The yearly Olojo Festival, according to Oyetola, who was represented by his deputy Mr. Benedict Alabi, is extraordinary in the history of Ile-Ife and the Yoruba people.
Perhaps the only place where the start of a new day is celebrated is here.
Without sugarcoating it, this celebration amplifies Ile-position Ife's in the universe and its significance to humanity. To celebrate it and give it its proper place, we must all work together, he remarked.
He congratulated the Ooni on the successful conclusion of the rituals and the festival's spectacular finale this year.
Oyetola praised Ooni Ogunwusi for his sacrifices and for communicating with the dead by carrying out the essential ceremonies of purification, production, security, and other things for the good of the Black race and of mankind as a whole.
In order to increase young employment, create wealth, and preserve Yoruba cultural legacy, the governor said his administration thought the state's economy needed to be repositioned.
The governor issued a challenge to the people of Osun, urging them to step up efforts to safeguard their cultural heritage, promote harmony, and avoid politics based on resentment.
