In Enugu, NCC seizes an unlawful digital cable network worth N250 million. - Feed9ja

In order to serve as a warning to others in the industry, the Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC) claimed it conducted a raid in Enugu and seized unlawful digital cable networks worth N250 million. The Real Summit Television studios, located in Nsukka, Enugu State, were sealed by the Commission on September 21. According to information acquired, the television channel reportedly stole the programming from other digital satellite transmitting stations like DSTV and Startimes. The manager, Mr. Daniel Anedo, had first been arrested by the Commission. The transmitter, decoders, inverters, and scramblers were among the devices and tools that were demobilized. In order to prevent the broadcast station from engaging in radio piracy, the Commission also turned off the transmitter and other devices. The Enugu State Director of N...

Responding to inquiries from journalists in Osogbo, the capital of Osun state, on Sunday, Professor Moses Akanmu, the state's PSN chairman, said that pharmacists from various professions today prefer to look for greener pastures abroad rather than practice in Nigeria. While bemoaning the recent surge in the production of phony pharmaceuticals, he revealed that the association would deworm 2,000 youngsters throughout the state's municipalities in honor of its 30th anniversary, which coincidentally happened to fall on the same day as Pharmacist Day internationally. As the River Benue rises to alarming levels and destroys communities, residents flee - feed9ja

When the gauge read 12 meters in 2012, the river overflew its banks, killing numerous locals. Due in part to the rising River Benue, residents in flooded districts in Benue State have evacuated their homes. Dr. Godwin Oyiwona, Commissioner of Water Resources and Environment, informed Daily Trust on Friday that the water has reached to a height of 11.1m on the River Benue's seasonal flood gauge. Oyiwona described how the river overflew its banks in 2012 when the gauge read 12 meters, displacing many people. However, the commissioner expressed concern that some locals were reluctant to leave their houses since they were fisherman and the flood gave them a greater opportunity to go fishing. "Water level is rising as a result of the dam in Cameroon raising water levels. People are being urged to relocate to safer regions away from the shore. "We are managing the region of rising water levels, which as of Thursday evening were 11.1 meters, and more water is on the way. It reac...

"For this reason, we opposed the privatization of the distribution sector since the investors lacked the capacity and knowledge to do so. We warned the administration against it as ardent Nigerians. Ho...
