Sports: The Nigerian Army Wins Inter Service Sports 2022 Championship

The Nigerian Army squad won the just finished 2022 inter service sports.

The Nigerian Air Force finished second with two gold medals, four silvers, and one bronze medal, while the Army team won the competition with seven gold and two silver medals.

On the other side, the Nigerian Navy finished last with eight bronze and one silver medal.

While praising the winning team, Chief of Defence Staff General Lucky Irabor stated that the tournament was created to improve the AFN personnel's physical fitness, mental alertness, and abilities, all of which are crucial for combat preparedness in the battle against insecurity.

The CDS, who was represented by Air Marshal Oladayo Amao, Chief of the Air Staff, stated that the tournament also gave participating teams from the 3 Services the chance to compete for honors and show camaraderie and team spirit.

The degree of sportsmanship displayed during this tournament, he continued, "further supports the value put on sports by the AFN and efforts towards increasing the combat preparedness of its people."
