ISWAP Accuses Of Attack On Nigerian Police Checkpoint In Edo, Killing Of Personnel, According To Breaking News

A few hours prior, ISWAP claimed that one of its militants had attacked a police car in Ondo State.

An attack on a police roadblock in Edo State has been blamed on the Boko Haram offshoot supported by the Islamic State, the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), formerly known as Jam'at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da'wah wa'l-Jihd.

The attack took place in the state on Thursday, September 22, 2022, according to ISWAP in a post that SaharaReporters was able to view.

It was also mentioned that a police officer perished in the assault.

Nigeria's South-South area includes Edo.

A few hours prior, ISWAP claimed that one of its militants had attacked a police car in Ondo State.

According to the terrorist organization, the attack at Ipele, Owo Local Government Area of the state, was carried out by "soldiers of the caliphate."

ISWAP's attacks on police checkpoints in the states of Edo and Ondo may be a sign that the group is heading south in Nigeria.

In the previous six months, ISWAP claimed to have expanded into Abuja, Kogi, and Taraba.

The organization claimed responsibility for an explosion that shook the historic town of Kabba in the Kogi West Senatorial District in May 2022.

The Owe dialect of Yoruba is spoken by the locals in Kabba, which serves as the administrative center of the Kabba/Bunnu LGA.

The distance between the town and Omuo in Ekiti State and Akunnu-Akoko and Ajowa-Akoko in Ondo State is less than ten minutes and twenty minutes, respectively.

Real life dragon’ found in Mongolia: Origins revealed - see video

A video purporting to be footage of a “real life dragon,” allegedly “caught” in the wild, has been doing the rounds on Twitter – and not for the first time. The present iteration of the viral video has picked up more than 160K likes on Twitter. Daily Loud shared it and encouraged their followers to “decide” if the supposed “dragon” is real or fake. On Reddit, people have already started joking that it’s the body of Arrax, Lucerys Velaryon’s late dragon from House Of The Dragon. Are ‘real life Mongolian dragons’…real No. Dragons – at least, dragons with long necks and long tails and wings – don’t exist in real life. But even with its unreality established, a question remains. It might not be a “real dragon,” but it is a real animal? Strange animals have washed up on beaches before, prompting confusion. One Reddit user suggested, perhaps sarcastically, that the video actually shows a “bear with mange.” They might not be serious, but they’re giving voice to a natural human instinct:...

In Enugu, NCC seizes an unlawful digital cable network worth N250 million. - Feed9ja

In order to serve as a warning to others in the industry, the Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC) claimed it conducted a raid in Enugu and seized unlawful digital cable networks worth N250 million. The Real Summit Television studios, located in Nsukka, Enugu State, were sealed by the Commission on September 21. According to information acquired, the television channel reportedly stole the programming from other digital satellite transmitting stations like DSTV and Startimes. The Commission demobilized the station at Ugwuoye, Nsukka by taking away the devices needed to collect signals for onward transmission before sealing the station there. The manager, Mr. Daniel Anedo, had first been arrested by the Commission. The transmitter, decoders, inverters, and scramblers were among the devices and tools that were demobilized. In order to prevent the broadcast station from engaging in radio piracy, the Commission also turned off the transmitter and other devices. The Enugu State Director of N...

Nigerian pharmacists are leaving, says the chairman of the PSN - Feed9ja

The Osun state chapter of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) raised concern over the recent wave of pharmacists leaving the nation as they celebrated World Pharmacists Day with their counterparts around the world. Responding to inquiries from journalists in Osogbo, the capital of Osun state, on Sunday, Professor Moses Akanmu, the state's PSN chairman, said that pharmacists from various professions today prefer to look for greener pastures abroad rather than practice in Nigeria. While bemoaning the recent surge in the production of phony pharmaceuticals, he revealed that the association would deworm 2,000 youngsters throughout the state's municipalities in honor of its 30th anniversary, which coincidentally happened to fall on the same day as Pharmacist Day internationally. "Many pharmacists are emigrating from the nation," he said. People are departing, including academic pharmacists, industrial pharmacists, hospital and administrative pharmacists, and commun...
