The Lagos Waste Management Agency (LAWMA) raises disposal costs by 100% and blames the price of diesel - Feed9ja
The agency stated that the increased prices would go into effect in November in a letter that the implicated third-party corporation sent to the residents on Monday.
This was confirmed in a letter the relevant third-party company issued to inhabitants of the states on Monday, claiming that the new prices will go into effect in November.
"Due to the recent increase in the price of diesel, which rose from N255.00 per liter to over N800 per litre as of today, and the high exchange rate, which has affected the cost of numerous Spare Parts of our trucks, the price of these parts has increased. We must increase our service fee for your facilities as noted below due to financial constraints; A Self-contained/Domestic Shop; A Room; N900 Monthly; N1,750 Monthly; N1,000 Monthly A flat rents for N2,000 a month; a duplex for N3,500.
According to a copy of the letter from TUNAP WASTE COMPANY LIMITED that SaharaReporters was able to get, "The new fee shall take effect from 1st of NOVEMBER 2022."
Similarly, EXCELLENS LINKS INT'L CO, another implicated third party entity, likewise attributed the increase to inflation.
